Dr. Parkinson has worked in the worlds of Corporate America and Academia, so he has an understanding of what is necessary to succeed in a variety of professional settings. Here is a brief introduction to his experience.
  • As a corporate consultant, Parkinson has worked with senior level executives in many large companies in the U.S. and abroad in private, small, and large group settings. As a Communications Coach, he has assisted clients to successfully and powerfully present themselves on live platform presentations and radio and television programs.
  • He has also assisted corporate clients craft their messages so they are clear and concise and easily understood by audiences in a wide variety of venues.
  • Finally, he has provided coaching and instructional assistance on effective writing techniques and practices.

  • Director of Research for the Communications Group for Bell & Howell
  • Director of Education for Supermarket Institute
  • Director of Research for the Office of the Governor, in Illinois
  • For almost twenty years Parkinson has been a member of the faculty of the School of Speech at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He has taught courses in the application of television and media in education, and he has served as Director of the Intern Program.
  • Before his association with Northwestern University he was an administrator at National-Louis University where he was Associate Dean for Teacher Education and then Dean of the Research Institute.
  • His academic career began as a high school English teacher and later he was appointed a school principal. He was also Director of Media in two large suburban public school systems.
  • He also served as an elected member of the Board of Education in Evanston, IL
